1665 will of Edward Munckton

Yeoman

 

In the Name of God Amen I Edward Munckton of Yeovell in the County of Somersett yeoman being of good and perfect Mind and Memory but weake of Bodye doe make and ordaine this my last Will and Testament in manner and forme following that is to say I Committ and give my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Maker hoping for salvation through the meritts Death and passion of Jesus Christ my sole Saviour and Redeemer And my Body to Christian Buriall in the Parish Churchyard of Yeovell at the [Charyed ?] and discretion of my Executrix of this my last Will and Testam[en]t Item I give will and devise unto Joseph Munckton my sonn his executors adm[inis]trat[or]s and assignes All that my half Acre of arable Land by [escimacion ?] lying and being in a Close called Holland within the mannor of Kingston iuxta Yeovell in th said County of Somersett which I bought by Indenture bearing date the First day of May In the Fowerteenth yeare of the Raigne of the late King Charles the First of England [word illegible - xxj ?] For the terme of Fowerscore and Nyneteene yeares if my self Robert and Jasper my sonnes or any or either of us shall so long lyve And all my Estate right title terme of yeares Clayme and demand whatsoever of in and unto the same half Acre Together with the Lease thereof Item I give will devise and bequeath unto my daughter Susanna Munckton her executors adm[inis]trat[or]s and assignes All that my Close of Meadow called Hollands conteyning by estimacion Three Acres lying and being in the Parish of Yeovell aforesaid which I bought of John Brayne And all my Estate right title interest terme of yeares residue and Rest of all my terme of yeares Clayme and demand whatsoever of in and unto my said last mentioned Close called Hollande together with the Deed or Assignment thereof Item I giver unto my said daughter Susanna the sume of Two Hundred Pounds To be paid unto her by my Executor of this my last Will and Testament within One yeare after my decease But if my said Executor shall neglect or refuse to pay the same within the time aforesaid Then I doe hereby give and devise unto my said daughter Susanna her executors administrators and assignes All those my Three Closes called Bowches lying and being in the Parish of Bradford in the County of Dorsett with theire and every of theire appurtenances And all my Estate right title interest terme of yeares yet to come and unexpired Item I give to my sonns Jasper Munckton John Munckton and Joseph Munckton Fyve shillings a peece All the rest and residue of my Goods and Chattells Debts and Creditts not herein or hereby given and bequeathed I doe hereby give devise and bequeath unto my sonn William Munckton whome I doe hereby nominate make and declare whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I doe hereunto sett my hand and seale this second day of may In the Seaventeenth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord King Charles the second of England Anno Dm 1665
