1806 Indenture

Land at Nether Adber to Samuel Rodber of Brimsmore Tree

 

This indenture made the twenty fifth day of December in the forty seventh year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and six Between Jonas Blandford of Sutton Montis in the County of Somerset Gentleman in devised in fee of the closes of Land and hereditaments hereinafter bargained and sold named in the last will and testament of Jonas Blandford late of Sparkford in the said County Gentleman his late uncle deceased of the one part and Samuel Rodber of Brimsmoor Tree in the parish of Yeovil in the said County Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of five shillings of lawful money of Great Britain to the said Jonas Blandford party hereto in hand well and truly paid by the said Samuel Rodber at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged He the said Jonas Blandford party hereto hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto the s[ai]d Samuel Rodber his executors administrators and assigns All that heretofore one close but now two closes of meadow or pasture ground commonly called or known by the name or names of Woodhouse containing by estimation 12 acres (be the same more or less) situate lying and being in Nether Adber in the parish of Trent and in the parish of East Camel alias Queen Camel in the said County of Somerset and formerly in the ten year or of William Lockier since of William Vigar and now of the said Jonas Blandford party hereto together with all trees woods underwood hedgewood and other wood and the ground and soil of the same ways paths passages commons common of pasture waters water courses watering places easements privileges profits commodities advantages emoluments rights members and all and singular the appurtenances to the said closes or either of them belonging or in any wise appertaining And the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders rents issues and profits and securities thereof and of every part and parcel thereof To have and to hold the said two closes of Meadow or pasture ground and premises hereby bargained and sold or intended so to be and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Samuel Rodber his executors administrators and assigns for and during and unto the full and end and term of one whole year from henceforth next ensuing and fully to be complete and ended Yielding and paying therefore the rent of a pepper corn on the last day of the said term if the same shall be lawfully demanded To the intent and purpose that by virtue of these presents and by force of the Statute made for transferring of uses into possession he the said Samuel Rodber may be in the actual possession of all and singular the said premises hereby bargained and sold or intended so to be with their appurtenances and thereby be enabled to accept and take a grant and release of the same and of the reversion and inheritance thereof unto and to the use of the said Samuel Rodber his heirs and assigns for ever In witness whereof the party's first above named have hereunto subscribed and set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
