AN APPEAL

An Appeal for photographs

For a proposed new book

Following the success of my recently-launched book "Yeovil From Old Photographs", the publishers, Amberley, have asked me to produce a book for their new "Now That's What I Call…" series entitled -

"Now That's What I Call Yeovil"

Yes, not the best of titles I agree. However they insist on including 180 colour photographs taken during the 1960s to the 1990s - and this is my problem - I need your photographs!

All photographs will be credited.

The book will tell the story of Yeovil using photographs from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The purpose of the book is to bring a sense of nostalgia for this particular recent period in Yeovil's history to appeal to those who remember these decades and may even recognise some of the people portrayed in the photographs.

So please, I need your Yeovil photographs of -

Events - celebrations, carnivals, parades, fairs, festivals, shows, street parties, etc.

Entertainment - shows, street performances, theatre, bands, groups, pantomimes, etc.

Shopping - markets, your favourite Yeovil shops, the Christmas rush and the like.

Leisure - dances, sports, skittles, bowling, presentation events, and so on.

Street views - Yeovil like it was - shops, buildings, open spaces

Town Development - new buildings, new housing,
