1656 will of John Bradley

In the name of God Amen The fifteenth day of May in the yeare of our lord God One Thousand six hundred Fifty and six I John Bradley of Yeavill in the countie of Somersett Butcher being sicke of body but of perfect mind and memorie (Thanks be given to God) Doe make and ordaine this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following First and principally I give and bequeath my Soule into the hands of Allmightie God [three words illegible] through the merritts of Christs passion to be made partaker of his heavenly Kingdom And my body I commit to the earth to bee buried in the Churchyard of Yeavill Item I give unto my Landlord John Bullocke Twentie pounds which he oweth mee on two severall Bonds and the [word illegible] thereof [word illegible] I give unto the said John Bullocke Five pounds which he oweth mee without [several words illegible] suite of apparell Dublett Breeches and Jackette with my blue [several words illegible] my best timber heele shooes with my Axe and Runninge Knife Item I give and bequeath to my Landlady the wife of the said John Bullock Fiftie shillings To be paid within three monthes after my decease and one paire of sheetes Item I give unto William Forward Tenn shillings and one of my best shirtes Item I give unto Agnes Forward Tenn shillings and my [word illegible] Item I give unto my Landlord John Bullocke Tenn shillings and my [Coffer ?] And my will is that he shall put it to the benefitt of his sonne John Item I give unto my Landlord John Bullocke Twentie shillings And my will is that he shall put it to the benefitt of his sonne George Item I give the said John Bullocke Tenn shillings And my will is that he shall put it to the benefitt of his Daughter [Marie ?] Item I give the said John Bullocke Tenn shillings and my box and my Linnen And my will is that he shall put it to the benefitt of his Daughter Elizabeth Item I give unto John [Synuvell ?] Five shillings and my {word illegible] suite of apparell Dublett Breeches Coate paire of Irish stockings shirt and band and anoth[er] hatt Item I give unto Henry Chepmans wife Tenn shillings Item I give unto the Widdowe Wootton Five shillings Item I give unto Sarah the daughter of the said Widdowe Five shillings Item I give unto John Sharpe Tenn shillings Item I give unto Thomas Bratham Tenn shillings Item I give unto Robert Short Tenn shillings which he oweth me Item I give unto the poore of the parish of Yeavill Fortie shillings Item I give and bequeathe unto Jane Hayne the daughter of my Sister Jane Three score pounds to be paid in sixe monthes after my decease but if she happen to dye before the six monthes aforesaid be expired Then her husband is to have the said money And if he shall also happen to dye before the end of the said sixe monthes That then theire Chiled to have the said money Item I give unto the said Jane Hayne my best longe rideing Coate with my hatt and hatt band lyned with satten and my Bible and fower smale Books Item I give unto Elizabeth Hardinge the wife of John Harding the elder of Yeavill aforesaid Butcher Tenn shillings Item I give unto Edward Hardeing and John Harding the sonnes of the said John Hardeinge Tenn shillings apeece All the rest of my goods Chattells money or household stuffe not formerly given and bequeathed I give and bequeath unto John Harding the elder aforesaid of Yeavill aforesaid Butcher Whom I doe make the sole Executor of this my last will and testament Hee the said Executor paying my debts dischargeing my Legacies and funerall Expenses Lastly I appoint and ordaine James Everdon the sonne of Edward Everdon of Yeavill aforesaid and William Salmon of Lufton in the county of Somersett Butcher to bee the Overseers of this my last will and Testament for paines I give them Five shillings apeece In Witnes whereof I the said John Bradley have hereunto sett may hand and seale the day and yeare first above written

This will was proved at London before the Judge for probate Wills and grantinge Administration lawfully authorized the one and Thirtieth day of July in the yeare of our Lord God One thousand six hundred fiftie and sixe By the oath of John Harding the Elder Sole Executor of the said deceased named in the said will administration of all and singular the goods Chattells and debts of the said deceased was committed Hee beinge first by Commission sworn truely to administer the same
