1657 Will of Giles Marsh

 

 

In the name of God Amen I Giles Marsh of Yeavill in the County of Somersett doe make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following First I bequeath my Soule into the handes of Allmighty God who gave it me hopeinge by the meritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour to receive a joyfull resurrection And my body to christian buryall Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne Giles Marsh one shillinge Item I give unto my Sonne Morgan Marsh one shillinge Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne Thomas Marsh six Poundes of currant english money to be Paid in manner and forme followinge (That is to say) Three poundes in one whole yeare after my decease And the other three poundes in one whole yeare next after Item I give and bequeath unto my Sonne John Marsh the like Summe of Six poundes of currant english money to be paid in manner and forme followinge (That is to say) Three pound in one whole yeare after my decease And the other three poundes in one whole yeare next after Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Margarett Marsh the like Summe of Six poundes of currant english money to be paid in like manner (that is to say) Three pound in one whole yeare after my decease And the other three poundes in one whole yeare next after that Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Marsh the Summe of Tenn poundes of currant english money to be Paid unto her when she shall come unto the age of one and twenty yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary Marsh the like Summe of tenn poundes to be paid unto her at the age of one and twenty yeares Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Grace Marsh the like Summe of tenn poundes of currant english money to be Paid unto her at the age of one and twenty yeares And my will is that in case my wide doth marry before my three children Elizabeth Mary and Grace doth come unto the age of one and twenty to receive the money themselves That then my will is that my overseers whom I shall appoint shall have the money given unto my said three daughters into their hands to Put it [word illegible] for the best advantage of my Said three daughters And my will is that if either of my daughters doth dye before come to the age of one and twenty That then my will is that the tenn pounds to be divided between my other five daughters and in case that two of them dye that shee which doth Survive shall receive all And my will is that that all the rest of my goods and Chattles I give unto my loveinge wife whom I make my executor and to Pay my debtes and Legacies and to have me decently buried And I shall desire my loveinge friend John Curry my kinsman & my brother George Moore to be my overseers to see this my will Performed And I doe give unto each of them for their Pain Twelve pence a Peece In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale The fifteenth day of March in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand Six hundred Fifty and Seaven

This will was proved at London the Second daie of the month of July in the yeare of our Lord God one Thousand six hundred Fifty and eight before the Judges for Probat of wills and granting Administrations lawfully authorized by the oath of Elizabeth Marsh the relict of the said Giles Marsh deceased and sole executrix named in the said will To whom was committed administration of all and Singular the goods Chattles and debtes of the said deceased Shee the said Elizabeth marsh being first sworne in due forme of Lawe by vertue of a Commission well and truly to Administer the same
