1669 will of Anne Dixon

In the name of God Amen the Eighth day of November Anno Domini One Thousand Six hundred Sixty and Nine And in the one and Twentyeth yeare of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord Charles the second by the Grace of God of England Stotland France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith I Anne Dixon (late of London) now of Yeowell in the Countye of Surrey [sic] Widdow calling to mind the certainty of Death and the uncertainty of the tyme doe whilst I am in Sound and perfecte memory and health (praised by God) make and declare my last will and Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First and principally I Commend my Soule into the hands of Almighty God my Maker trusting assuredly for Salvation by the alone meritts of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus and my Body I Commend to the Earth from whence I came in assured hope of Joyfull and Glorious Resurrection and to bee buried att such place as my Executors hereafter named shall thinke fitt and as touching that temporall Estate which itt hath pleased God to bestowe upon mee I give and dispose Thereof in manner following viz Imprimis I give and bequeath unto Mary the daughter of Thomas Wright Cittizen and Dyer of London my house and Lands at Yeowell aforesaid and over and above the same the summe of one hundred and Fiftye pounds in money to be paid unto her when shee shall attaine the Age of one and twenty yeares or day of Marriage which shall first happen Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Thomas Tylly of Yeowell aforesaid the summe of Tenn pounds Item I give and Bequeath unto Jane Golant the wife of George Golant of the same place the summe of Tenn pounds and unto her Grandchild George Five pounds Item I give and Bequeath unto Sarah the Daughter of the aforesaid Thomas Tilley the summe of Five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Mary [Hoarde?] of Yeowell aforesaid Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Katherine Vassall widd[ow] the Summe of Five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Jane Rogers the summe of Five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen John Holder and unto his Sonne the like summe of Five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Anne Hobbs of Wapping the summe of Tenn pounds Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Webb of Wapping the same place Five pounds Item I give and biqueath unto and amongst the Children my Cosen [Goch?] the summe of Twelve pounds to bee equally divided between them Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Jane Holder the summe of Thirtye pounds Item I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth the Daughter my Cosen Mathew Silase Holder the summe of Twenty  pounds Item I give and Biqueath Thomas the Sonne of Thomas Pratt of London [word illegible] the summe of Five pounds and unto Samuell another Sonne the like summe of Five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto Anne the Daughter of Samuell Dixon of Moulsey the summe of Five pounds Item I give and biqueath unto my Cosen Thomas Bickford of Epsom the Summe of Five pounds Item I give and bequeath unto Katherine my now Servant the Summe of Fortye Shillings Item I give and Biqueath unto Goodwife Plumb my late Brother Giffins Nurse the summe of Fortye Shillings Item I give and bequeath unto Christopher Godale my late Servant and unto his wife the Summe of Twentye Shillings Apeece to buy each of them A Ringe Item I give and biqueath to the several Parrishes of Saint James Garlickhill Saint Bennetts Paules wharfe London and Yeowell aforesaid the Summe of Forty Shillings Apeece to be distributed to and amongst their poor Item I give and biqueath unto my Cosen Matheuselah Holder the Summe of Forty pounds Item I give and biqueath unto the aforesaid mary Wright all the goods that I dye possessed of which were my late Aunt Gittins and alsoe my suite of Greene Curtaines and valence and Stooles and Chaires thereto belonging I give and bequeath my Guilt Cupp to my Cosen Jane Colant and my Silver Bowle to Sarah the wife of my Cosen Matheuselah Holder and alsoe I give to the said Sarah one hoope Gold Ringe two paire of Flaxen Sheetes and one Dozen of Napkins All the rest of my Silver plate with A Ring with A Small Sparke therein unto the aforesaid Mary Wright Item I give and bequeath unto my Cosen Anne Hobbs one Featherbedd five Blancketts A Ring and five paire of Sheetes Item I give and bequeath unto Mrs Webb my Brother Wrights Sister one Gold Ringe and unto his wife one hoop Gold Ringe Item my will and meaning is that if the aforesaid Mary Wright shall happen to dye before shee attaine the Age of one and Twentye Yeares or day of marriage that then the house and Land to her given as aforesaid shall go to and betweene my Cozens Thomas Tilley and Jane Colant equally and out of the one hundred  and Fifty pounds given to her as aforesaid there be paid unto my Cosen Matheuselah Holder fiftye pounds to his daughter Elizabeth Tenn pounds and to my Cozen Jane Holder Twentye pounds to my Cozen Webb the wife of Richard Webb Tenn pounds to my Cozen Anne Hobbs the Summe of Tenn pounds to my Cozen Katherine Vassall and Jane Rogers Five pounds Apeece and to Sarah Tilley Five pounds and the plate and goods given to the said Mary Wright to be disposed of by my Executors to and amongst such of my kindred as my Executors shall thinke [meete?] Item I give and biqueath unto my Cosen Matheuselah Holder one Featherbedd and Furniture thereto belonging And my pewter and Brasse and Linnen and wearinge Apparell I appointe shalbe distributed by my Executors to and amongst my kindred according to their best discretion my Cozen Matheuselah Holder to receive and take A Considerable parte thereof to himselfe Item I doe give and Bequeath unto my good Friend James Cole of London Gentleman the Summe of Five pounds and I doe Appointe him Overseer this my will and do desire his Assistance to my Executors hereinafter named in this affair And I doe direct that Twenty pounds be expended in and about my Funeralls the rest of all my Estate Goods Chattles Debts and money I give and bequeath the same (after my Debts Legacyes and Funerall Charges bee paid and satizfied which I doe appointe bee within one yeare next after my decease) unto my loving Brother in Law Thomas Wright my loving Cosen Matheuselah Holder whom I make Executors of this my last Will and testament And doe hereby revoake All former Wills In wittness whereof I the said Anne Dixon have to this my last will contained in Five sheets of Paper Sett my hand and seale to each Sheete thereof and Publish the same to be my last Will this Eighth day of November One Thousand Six hundred Sixty and Nine
