1690 Will of Charles Harbin

Esquire

 

In the Name of God Amen the twenty [seventh?] day of December in the second yeare of the reigne of our Sovereigne Lord and Lady William and Mary by the grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King and Queene Defenders of the Faith and in the yeare of our Lord God One Thousand six hundred and Ninety I Charles Harbin of the parish of Yeovill in the County of Somersett Esq[uire] being in reasonable health of body and of sound good and perfect mind and memory (Almighty God be therefore praised) calling to mind the certainty of Death and the time thereof is most uncertain doe make ordaine and declare this my last will and testament in manner and forme following wherein I principally com[m]end my soule into the hands of Almighty God my Creator the Holy and blessed indevided Trinity in unity the Father Sonne and Holy Goste trusting by the merits of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and by the assistance of the Holy Spirritt to have full p[ar]don and free remission of all my sinns and to inheritt Everlasting life my body I com[m]it to the Earth from whence it came to be decently buried and as concerning such temporall estate as God of the infinite mercy hath made me Steward of in this life I give grant bequeath limit dispose devise direct order and appoint the same as hereafter followeth (that is to say) Imp[rimi]s I give and bequeath unto the poore of the said parish of Yeovilll tenn pounds to be paid within six months after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my dearely beloved Brother John Harbin one hundred and fifty pounds of good and lawful money of England to be paid within six months after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto my Sister in Law Elizabeth Harbin the now wife of my brother William Harbin the sume of One hundred pounds of like lawful money of England Item I give and bequeath to my Neece and Goddaughter Katherine Harbin one of the daughters of my brother William Harbin aforesid the sume of One hundred pounds Item I give and bequeath to my Nephew Wyndham Harbin and to my three Neeces Ann Harbin Elizabeth Harbin and Frances Harbin sonne and daughters of the said William Harbin Twenty Ginneys apeece to every and either of them Item I give and bequeath unto my Uncle Samuel Harbin and my Aunt his now wife the sume of twenty pounds Item I give and bequeath unto my Cozen Sarah Harbin daughter of my Uncle Samuel Harbin aforesaid the sume of twenty pounds Item I give and bequeath to my poore Relations at Trent in the County aforesaid Tenn pounds to be distributed amongst them within six months after my decease by my Executor hereafter named as he in his good discretion shall think fitt Item I give and bequeath unto Thomas Wallis of Yeovill tenn Ginneys Item I give and bequeath unto Hugh [Hurenett?] the Elder of Trent aforesaid tenn Ginneys And whereas I have hereinabove by these presents given and bequeathed to my said brother John Harbin One hundred and fifty pounds my will is that if he dyes before me or before he returnes from beyond sea or before it become due and payable by vertue hereof that then I give and bequeath the said One hundred and fifty pounds unto my said brother William Harbin of Newton S[ur]mavill in the parish of Yeovill aforesaid Esq[uire] whom I make and ordaine my whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament and unto him my said dearely beloved brother William Harbin my Executor I give and bequeath all other my estate bills bonds goods chattles debts dues claimes and demands whatsoever and wheresoever and I utterly revoke and adnull all and every other former Testaments wills legacyes bequests Executors or Executrix by me in any wise before this time made named willed bequeathed and given In witnesse whereof to this my last Will and testament I the said Charles Harbin have hereunto put my hand and seale the day and yeare above written
