1793 Obligation (Part-printed)

From William Lambert White to Edward Boucher

 

Know all Men by these presents That I William Lambert White in this County of Somerset Gentleman am held and firmly bound to Edward Boucher of the same place Gentleman in the Sum of Eighjt hundred pounds of Good and lawfull Money of Great Britain To be paid to the said Edward Boucher or his certain Attorney Executors Administrators or Assignes for the true payment whereof I bind my self my Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them firmly by these Presents stated with my Seal Dated this eighteenth day of June in the thirty third Years of the reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the grace of God of Great Britain france and Ireland King Defender of the faith and so forth and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety three

Whereas the above named Edward Boucher by his Bond or Obligation bearing the date the fifth day of May which was in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one is and stands bound to Sarah Bright then of Yeovil aforesaid Spinster but since deceased in the penal sum of Eight hundred pounds and Interest as therein mentioned as in and by the said Obligation thereof will fully appear And whereas the said Bond was so given to the said Sarah Bright as a collateral security for the sum of Four hundred pounds which was advanced by the said Sarah Bright to the said Edward Boucher on Mortgage bearing equal date with the said in part [recited ??] obligation of a certain Estate and Lands in the parish of Yeovil aforesaid called Pen which the above bounden William Lambert White hath lately purchased of the said Edward Boucher subject to the said Mortgage Now the condition of this Obligation is such That if the said William Lambert White his Heirs Executors or Administrators do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the Executors Administrators or Assigns of the said Sarah Bright the said Sum of Four hundred pounds so due on the said in part recited Bond as aforesaid together with interest for the same from the fifth day of May last and if the said William Lambert White his Heirs Executors or Admin[istrator]s shall also from time to time and at all times hereafter save [word illegible] and indemnify him the said Edward Boucher his Executors and Admin[istrator]s and his and their Goods and Chattels of and from all damages Sums of money costs and charges which he or they or any of them shall or may at any time hereafter be p[ut unto by reason of the said in part recited Obligation Then this obligation to be void or else to remain in full force
