1817 will of mary coward

This is the last Will and Testament of me Mary Coward of Yeovil in the County of Somerset the Wife of Henry Coward of the same place Grocer I give and devise unto my loving Husband the said Henry Coward my two Closes of Land called Higher Lark Hill and Lower Lark Hill in Yeovil aforesaid containing about seventeen Acres (purchased in fee by the late Samuel Strong) of Messiors Glyde and Watts and given to me by my late Uncle Richard Strong his Heirs and Assigns upon Trust to receive the Rents Issues and Profits thereof and apply such Rents Issues and Profits for and towards the maintenance education and support of Mary Ann Coward my Daughter during her minority and when and so soon as my said Daughter shall arrive at the age of twenty one years or day of Marriage I give and devise such two Closes called Higher Lark Hill and Lower Lark Hill and my Daughter Mary Ann Coward To hold to her her Heirs and Assigns for ever But in case my said Daughter shall happen to die before the age of twenty one years and without leaving any lawful Issue then I do hereby give and devise the same two Fields called Higher Lark Hill and Lower Lark Hill unto my said Husband Henry Coward To hold to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever And as to all the rest residue and remainder of my Real and Personal Estates of whatsoever nature or kind or wheresoever situate which I have any right or power of disposing of I give devise and bequeath the same to my Husband the said Henry Coward To hold to him his Heirs and Assigns for ever and I appoint the said Henry Coward to be Executor of this my Will In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fourth day of December in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand eight hundred and seventeen

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Mary Coward as and for her last Will and testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto

On the 22nd of May 1818 Adm[inistrati]on with the Will annexed of all and singular the Goods Chattels & Credits of Mary Coward formerly Strong Spinster (Wife of Henry Coward) late of Yeovil in the County of Somerset deceased was granted to the said Henry Coward the lawful Husband the party entitled to the Effects of the said deceased [illegible words inserted] he having been first sworn duly to Administer
