1839 will of sarah howe

Widow of South Street

 

This is the last Will and Testament of me Sarah Howe of Yeovil Widow  I give and devise my Dwellinghouse with the Garden and Appurt[enance]s thereto belonging situate in South Street Yeovil aforesaid now void unto George Edwards Wellington of Yeovil aforesaid Druggist To hold the same to him his heirs and assigns In Trust for my Daughter Elizabeth Knobbs her heirs and assigns for ever charged as hereinafter mentioned  I give and devise my Dwellinghouse (being the second from the and against the steps) with the Garden and appurt[enance]s thereto belonging situate in South Street Yeovil aforesaid unto the said George Edwards Wellington To hold the same to him his heirs and assigns In Trust for my Son William Howe his heirs and assigns for ever charged as hereinafter mentioned  I give and devise my Dwellinghouse adjoining the last mentioned with the Garden and Appurt[enance]s thereto belonging situate in South Street aforesaid unto the said George Edwards Wellington To hold the same to him his heirs and assigns In Trust for my Son Joseph Howe his heirs and assigns for ever charged as hereinafter mentioned  I give and devise my Dwellinghouse in which I reside situate in South Street aforesaid with the Garden and Appurt[enance]s thereto belonging unto the said George Edwards Wellington To hold the same to him his heirs and assigns In Trust for my Son John Howe his heirs and assigns for ever charged as hereinafter mentioned  I give unto the said George Edwards Wellington the sum of ten pounds to be placed by him in the savings Bank at Interest In Trust for my son William until he returns from abroad when I direct the same with the accumulations to be paid to him  I give unto my Grandson Joseph Knobbs a suit of good mourning and also my Bed Pillows and Bolster Bedstead and Furniture Mattress with the Counterpane and covering two Blankets two Sheets two Pillow cases and two Bolster Clothes and the painted Chest of Drawers which was his Mother's I give to my Son William my Oak Bureau my two volumes of Gregory's Dictionary my small Bible 1 Silver Table Spoon and all the Working Tools which were his Father's  I give to my Son Joseph my Bed Bedstead and Furniture formerly used by him but lately used by me with the Pillows Bolster Counterpane two Blankets and two sheets usually used therewith my Pier Glass the Dressing Table and Swing Glass now in my Bed Room my Mahogany Card Table Clock and Case my large Bible six Volumes of History of the Earth two Brass Candlesticks and my marble mantle piece  I give unto my son John the Bedstead and Furniture Bed Bolster Pillows and bedding used by him my mahogany Dining Table mahogany round Table my second Bible two volumes of the History of England one silver Table Spoon the looking Glass and Dressing Table usually used in his Bed Room and my Oak Chest of Drawers and four Tea Spoons  I give to my Daughter Elizabeth my six Silver Tea Spoons my gold Broach and all my Wearing Apparel All the Rest of my Personal Estate I give unto my said four Children equally  I direct that my Friend Mrs Lucas shall distribute the several Articles and goods hereinbefore given to my said Children  I hereby charge all my Dwellinghouses and Premises appurtenant thereto with the payment of my just debts funeral and Testamentary expences and the two first legacies hereinbefore by me given and I empower my Executor to raise the same by sale or Mortgage thereof as he may think fit the Premises devised in Trust for each of my said Children bearing an equal proportion of the said charge And I revoke all former Wills and appoint the said George Edwards Wellington sole Executor hereof In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 17th day of July 1839

Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Sarah Howe as and for her last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses thereto

Proved at London 28th August 1839 before the Judge by the oath of George Edwards Wellington the sole Executor to whom Adm[inistrati]on was granted having been first sworn by Com[misio]n duly to administer
