Crown & Glove
South Street
The Crown & Glove was located on the north side of South Street or Back Street and flourished, certainly in 1776, as testified by the following lease.
According to the lease the Crown & Glove was in the possession of Philip Cheeseman, who may have been related to a beer seller called Thomas Cheeseman who was recorded in the Churchwarden's' Accounts of 1728 for supplying beer.
Nothing else is known.
