The company of ES Ewens was only listed once in Yeovil's trade directories and this was in 1954 when they were listed as glove manufacturers of St Michael's Road in Edwin Snell's Directory of that year.
The company was owned by Evlyn Samuel Ewens, youngest son of Edward Samuel Ewens. Evlyn had, in the 1920s and 1930, been co-owner of the Huish Glove Company of Union Street.
